strategic response team lead

Strategic Response Team Lead oversees the team at our Bloomingdale or Chicago location including the management of resources and distribution of project work. This team supports: New Business Development Sales, Real Estate, Architectural & Design Sales and Account leaders. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Management

  • Directs and manages team task assignments 
  • Conducts evaluation and review of team
  • Distributes and assigns project work for team in conjunction with NBD design manager (if NBD design team is needed) 
  • Manages team resources and evaluates design schedules 
  • Trains new associates on the RFP process and specific RFP & design skills when required
  • Provides consultation to team 
  • Evaluates IT requirements for team
  •  Assigns double checks, renderings to team 
  • Monitors scheduling of vendor presentations to team 
  • Tracks and investigates errors for team members 
  • Schedules team meetings to review and evaluate schedules 

Project Design (RFP Responses)

  • Work with the A & D sales and design team when requested to participate in RFP preparation
  • Concept design including space planning, workstation development 
  • Provide pricing for systems, ancillary and alternate furniture selections as requested 
  • Gather pricing from vendors and images from websites for PPT presentation 
  • Assemble document with RFP solutions using standard design template 
  • Stay within time frame to meet requested due date 
  • Value engineer alternates as needed
  • Ability to lead projects from inception through order entry 
  • Attend client presentations including job tours 
  • Site visit may include programming, field measure confirmation, electrical verification, architectural conditions, inventory, creation of CAD plan 
  • Fabric and finish selection

Project Communication/Coordination

  • Communicate design progress with sales person 
  • Provide pricing and specifications to sales person 
  • Discuss project phasing with project manager 
  • Determine communication needed with A & D firms or clients with sales person 
  • Email communication with vendors for pricing and product information

 

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE

  • 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design
  • Minimum of 5 years corporate design experience 

 

SKILLS + ABILITIES

  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2017
  • Proficient creating specifications in CAP 20/20 Worksheet
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines 
  • Commitment to providing the highest level of design service 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize efficiently
  • Detail-oriented with problem-solving abilities 
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and ability to work with little to no supervision 
  • Positive, efficient team player with good leadership skills 
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with individuals at various levels of an organization both within and outside the company
     

NOTICE: This role will start after a 30-60 day probation period as a designer within the NBD design team.
