BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT support coordinator

The Business Development Support Coordinator delivers strategic support to the Business Development Team, helping to ensure the growth of key business relationships, the provision of critical materials and content, and the excellence of select client-facing communications.  



Architecture & Design (A&D) Development

Perform a variety of tasks to support the growth of relationships with A&D firms, often in conjunction with an A&D salesperson:

  • Attend weekly onsite product presentations to gain and maintain product knowledge.

  • Coordinate showroom presentations.

  • Attend select industry networking events.

  • Participate in select client visits to enhance the customer experience.

  • Maintain customer- and project-related information in the company’s CRM platform.

  • Participate in strategic thinking, planning, coordination, etc. for a variety of meetings.

  • Plan and execute effective A&D programs and events.

  • Develop and coordinate the leave behinds for A&D firms by setting up regular meetings, performing market research on ideas, engaging in costing, etc. (in conjunction with the Marketing Team).

  • Provide personalized specification/pricing for A&D firms that request furniture.

Material Library

  • Assist in pulling and requesting samples for finish meetings.

  • Order and send samples.

  • Schedule vendor meetings at Thomas Interiors or at vendor showrooms for Business Development projects.

Specifications/Business Development/RFP Support

  • Assist with writing proposals/quotes.

  • Assist with formatting and assembling bid submissions.

  • Help to source and select ancillary product specifications and pricing.

  • Request vendor quotes.

  • Provide 2020 Cap specs with discounts (and margin if requested).

  • Provide content for PowerPoint/Look Book presentations.

  • Provide alternative and value-engineered selections when applicable.

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—especially PowerPoint

  • 2 years’ corporate design or furniture experience preferred
